Moloyashree Hashmi has worked in the field of elementary education for over thirty years with children in schools and other educational groups in both rural and urban areas. She has written textbooks for English at the elementary level and evolved new educational material (for NCERT, SCERT and Eklavya) in other subjects as well. She has conducted language-skill oriented programmes and regularly conducts workshops for innovative techniques for several subjects at the elementary level for teachers in government and private schools. She has used theatre as a pedagogic tool in the classroom. At present, she conducts the Theatre Practicum for students of the Bachelor of Elementary Education in various colleges of Delhi University and is the educational consultant for The Srijan School. For the last thirty-eight years, she has also been engaged in theatre, and is Secretary of Jana Natya Manch, India’s premier street theatre group. She has been on the editorial board of Nukkad Janam Samvaa.
