Janat Shah, a mechanical engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai, obtained his Fellow in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in 1989. As visiting scholar at the MIT Sloan School of Management in 1997, he worked on areas related to supply chain management. He was visiting faculty for a term with the Logistics Institute at National University of Singapore in 2001.Currently, Janat Shah, a professor of production and operations management at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, holds the position of special professor at the Nottingham University Business School in the operations management division. He conducts management education programs for executives in a number of companies and, offers consultancy services in the area of the design and development of decision-support systems for supply chain management as well.
